Tablets, Capsules should be taken orally with more water
Suspensions, Emulsions: Shake well before use
Opthalmics & Parenterals: If any contaminants/ unwanted particles are observed don’t use.
Semisolid dosage forms: Ointments, creams, gels, etc – Topically applied
Irritation test for semisolids applied on the face
Paracetamol: 125 to 650 mg every 6 hours (up to a maximum of 4g in 24 hours)
Ingestion of 4g or more of paracetamol may lead to liver damage
Alcohol consumption, Sodium nitrite are contraindicated
Insulin preparations: Subcutaneous route
diclofenac aceclofenac use during empty stomach: gastric irritation
Anti-ulcer drugs: Proton pump inhibitors- Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, etc should be used in empty stomach.
Cough syrups Cough syrups with Alcohol usage leads to side effects, and organ damage, such as cirrhosis of the liver.
Do not drink or eat dairy products while taking medication
Grape fruit juice inhibits liver enzymes, leads to improper metabolism of drug
Expiry date: Check when medications “expire” (best before date)
Eye drops usage: used within one month after opening the seal/ if any irritations to the eye dispose the formulation. Do not touch the tip of the container.
Storage Conditions: In generally at Room Temperature. (Should not be placed in high temperatures/low temperatures)
But Insulin preparations- Should be stored in the refrigerator 2-8 degrees

Color / different brands of medication- Generics- Not affect the action of drug
