We started from V. V. Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences around 9:30AM and reached destination at 9.45AM. Chitram village is a meagerly populated with a population approx around 1200 with 135 families. Taking the first step into the village, our NSS volunteers were conducted door to door awareness campaign about harmful effects of smoking and alcohol and noted out the smokers and drinkers in each home and given them counseling. Apart from the counseling  our volunteers are given medical advice to quit smoking and alcohol. The event was presided by Dr. A. Lakshmana Rao (Principal of the College). The programme was headed by the NSS Programme officer Mr. V.L.Vinod kumar and students (NSS Volunteers) were actively involved.
